Professional Experience

Carolynn has over twenty years of experience in state and local taxation coupled with over seven years of experience in federal taxation. Prior to establishing the firm in 2003, Carolynn spent most of her career working in the state and local tax practice of Big Four public accounting firms. In addition, Carolynn held a management position in the Tax Department of an international pharmaceutical company with responsibilities involving federal and international tax matters, coupled with a primary focus in state and local taxation. Carolynn served as a visiting professor at Widener University, and is an adjunct professor in the University’s Master of Taxation Program.

Carolynn holds a law degree from Widener University School of Law and a Bachelor’s Degree in Management with a major in Accounting and a minor in Spanish from Widener University.

Professional Experience

Amy has been an attorney with the firm since 2005. Prior to joining the firm, she was a Manager in the State and Local Tax group at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where she practiced for nearly six years. Throughout her tenure at PwC, Amy worked with a variety of clients identifying sales and use tax refund opportunities for clients and successfully argued both refund and reassessment claims before the Pennsylvania Board of Appeals and the Pennsylvania Board of Finance & Revenue. In addition, she assisted in the creation of multistate sales and use tax matrices outlining the taxability of various purchase/sales transactions, and developed significant expertise assisting non-profit organizations in obtaining exempt status within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Amy holds a law degree and an MBA degree from the Temple University Schools of Law and Business and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, with a minor in Accounting, from Wilkes University.

Iris Kitamura
Iris M. Kitamura, Attorney

Professional Experience

Iris has over ten years of experience in state and local taxes and specializes in multistate sales and use taxes. Prior to joining the firm, she was a Director in the State and Local Tax group at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in Philadelphia and the New York Metro offices. Iris has worked with a number of Fortune 500 companies, representing a broad array of industries including manufacturing, communications, retail, pharmaceuticals, construction contracting, and utilities. Throughout her tenure at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Iris successfully represented clients before the New Jersey Conference & Appeals Branch, the New York Bureau of Conciliation & Mediation, the Pennsylvania Board of Appeals and the Pennsylvania Board of Finance & Revenue.
